Today, our blog hosts a brief interview with Radu Ivascu, Director of INTEX.
Radu, welcome to the #MeeTheD-HYDROFLEXTeam blog series. INTEX is the DEMO#2 – Bratia Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP) owner and responsible for the validation of the D-HYDROFLEX solutions.
Q: Would you like to introduce yourself to get to know you?
A: I am the Director of INTEX, SME part of INTEX PRIM group, with active involvement in energy production hydro and photovoltaic projects developed in Romania.
Q: Could you describe your company’s role on the project?
A: The focus of INTEX in within D-HYDROFLEX, is to validate a fault detection and predictive maintenance system based on advanced data processing by using data from the SCADA system of BRATIA HPP and energy production forecasting, based on available data related to the power station operation and heterogeneous and exogenous data related to the regional environment.
In D-HYDROFLEX project, INTEX is the owner of the Hydroelectric Power Plant in Bratia of Romania for DEMO #2 and is responsible for the validation of the D-HYDROFLEX solutions.
Q: What are the main challenges of your work on the project, and how do you tackle them?
A: One of the main challenges for INTEX is to implement the SCADA update for real-time data connection with D-HYDROFLEX service developers, in order to fully support the validation phase.
Q: What do you expect from the project? How will the project affect the energy ecosystem?
A: The development of D-HYDROFLEX will provide useful tools to INTEX as demo owner for operation and preventive maintenance purposes. The key components highlighted by D-HYDROFLEX will be the fault detection and predictive maintenance, together with the energy production forecasting, that will provide a much needed improvement in O&M strategy already in place.
