From October 7–9, 2025, representatives of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology participated in the 14th Polish Hydropower Conference HYDROFORUM 2025, held at the in Rytro, in Poland.
The event gathered over 110 participants and featured 34 presentations covering a wide range of topics, including legal and economic frameworks and development strategies, technological trends and investments (including pumped-storage hydropower), climate and environmental challenges, hydraulic energy recovery in urban water systems, operation and technology of multi-purpose facilities, innovative hydro units and small hydropower plants, as well as the HYDROFORUM Debate.
The conference concluded with a study visit to the Rożnów Hydropower Plant and a cruise on Lake Rożnów, organized in cooperation with Tauron Ekoenergia Sp. z o.o.
The Wrocław University of Science and Technology took part in Session III: Digitalization of Hydropower Plant Operation and Market Analyses, presenting the paper “D-Hydroflex: Digital solutions for improving the sustainability performance and FLEXibility potential of HYDROpower assets.” The presentation discussed the current progress and development of a digital twin of a hydro unit, highlighting the university’s contribution to advancing digital transformation and sustainable innovation in the hydropower sector.
